Cape Reinga Adventure

What a day! Firstly we travelled up to Cape Reinga which was just amazing! The walk to the light house only took a few minutes and the views absolutely amazing! To see the Pacific ocean meeting the Tasman sea was pretty special. I just love the New Zealand coasts ... After a few photos we took off to the amazing and huge sand dunes close to Te Paki! There we were able to hire some boogie boards and could slide down the dunes ... (after a very steep climb!) The boys absolutely loved it up in the sand and they climbed the hill several times! Trev and I only managed a couple of rides but so much fun!! Another amazing experience for all of us ... Now we are at another amazing beach called Ahipara and saw a beautiful sunset. We are very lucky!

After a great day we are all exhausted and ready for bed

Dolphin discovery cruise

Today mum and dad were very excited because they swam with the dolphins! There was a small pod of 4 bottle-nose dolphins that they swam with. We stayed on the boat and tried to take some photos but the dolphins were too fast! (We will add some when we get the ones from the boat cruise crew)

In the afternoon we carried on to pukenui and stopped briefly by the 90 mile beach and climbed a sand dune.

Day 3 & 4

This morning we woke up to a big high tide at our campsite. Look at us standing on the jetty:

Then we took the ferry to Russell where we had an ice cream, (yum, yum) walked up a steep zig zag trail and down to a beautiful beach called long beach!

Later on we went to look at the treaty of waitangi. We got to see the government house and the Marae. We also saw a Maori war waka which could sit 130 people built from 2 Kauri trees.

Easter

Today we were wondering if the Easter bunny would find us up here?!
We have our fingers crossed ...

First night in camper van

Today we picked up our campervan and were lucky to get a free upgrade! We had a bit of trouble to get through Auckland with our bigger version but managed at the end!
The rest of the trip to our first destination went well and we are now parked up by the Haruru Falls. Beautiful spot, right by the water (hope the tide won't be too big!!) and the waterfall is in view. We will be exploring Russell in the morning and can't wait to go to Waitangi, where the Treaty was signed in 1840.

Going to Auckland

I am going to Auckland. I can't wait. It is going to be fun. I am going to have Easter there too. And I am going to have my birthday in the campervan. I think it is going to be hot.
